HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey sophomore DeQuan Abrom has been named first-team All-Conference Carolinas, the league announced today at its annual awards brunch. Voting was conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.
Abrom leads the Crusaders in scoring with an average of 20.2 points per game. He topped double figures in 26 of the 29 games, posting the team-high on 20 occasions. He also tallied 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game. The native of Upper Marlboro, Md., led The Abbey in scoring 20 times, reaching 30 points on four occasions. His 35 points at North Georgia were a team-best all year.
Belmont Abbey plays in the conference semifinals later this afternoon against Limestone. The winner advances to the championship game tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
