Communications Office Claims Pair of CoSIDA Awards

BELMONT, N.C. -- The Belmont Athletic Communications Office has been honored with a pair of Publication and Digital Design awards from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced this week. The Crusader staff had one graphic named seventh-best in the nation, while another was third in the district.

With Athletic Facilities and Communications Coordinator Brooks Leger as the lead designer, a graphic promoting women's volleyball took second place in the district and seventh in the country. A graphic announcing the Crusader Cycling Team finished first among Division II schools at the USA Cycling Track National Championship was voted third in the district by an independent panel.

"Brooks' creativity and technical skills in graphic design are a tremendous asset for the office and for Belmont Abbey Athletics," Director of Athletic Communications Jim Stephan said. "It's exciting to see our promotion of Belmont Abbey student-athletes be recognized."

"This is a wonderful recognition for our Athletic Communications team," Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations Michelle McNeight added. "I am very proud of the innovation, creativity, and detail that our team puts into social content for Abbey Athletics. Our strong social media presence serves as a wonderful way to engage with our Crusader Community and highlight each of our athletic programs."

This marks the fifth CoSIDA design award for the athletic communications office in the last two years.
