Crusaders Dropped by Bears

Lenoir-Rhyne put up six runs in the first and never looked back tonight at Abbey Yard, as the Bears downed Belmont Abbey by a 13-1 score.

Lenoir-Rhyne used the first inning, followed by a three run fifth and a four run eighth to send the Abbey to just its third home loss of the season.

The lone bright spot for the Crusaders came in the fifth, as Thomas Yoder played Lorenzo Wright with an RBI double to put the Crusaders on the board.

Matt McGarry did have a multi hit game, but it was not nearly enough, as the Bears wrapped 14 hits on the evening.

The Bears go into the Easter holiday with a 24-6-1 record, while the Bears move to 23-8, earning the split in the two game series.

When the Crusaders return to campus, they set their sights on Savannah, as the Armstrong State Pirates will host the Crusaders in a midweek contest.

The Abbey returns home April 1 versus North Greenville. That game will be on the BASN at 5:45pm airtime. Follow the Crusaders on
