Crusades Score Five at Lenoir-Rhyne

HICKORY, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey baseball team collected eight hits and five runs at Lenoir-Rhyne Wednesday night. The Crusaders move to 16-19 and the Bears improve to 16-17 after their 11-5 win.


Mason Dodd, Ben Gobbel, and Derrick Dabney all recorded two hits in the game.

Kale Rhame homered in the second inning to give the Crusaders the early lead.

Dabney and Dodd laced RBI singles in the third and fourth.

Evan Campbell started for Belmont Abbey going 3.1 innings with two strikeouts.

Joe Cooney threw the last 1.2 innings not allowing a run and collecting three strikeouts.
