Crusaders Battle in Extra Innings in Conference Tournament

TIGERVILLE, N.C. – The fifth-seeded Belmont Abbey baseball team battled long into the night as it took the three-seed Mount Olive Trojans 11 innings to beat the Crusaders. The Abbey (27-24) collected six hits in the contest but the Trojans (32-14) benefitted from an 11th inning home run to send them to the Conference Carolinas Championship game tomorrow vs North Greenville.

Highlights

The first six hitters in the Crusader lineup all collected hits throughout the game with Jakob Rolly driving in two runs on a first-inning home run.

Richard DeLaCruz blasted a solo home run in the third.

Alex Nodarse started on the mound for the Crusaders throwing 3.2 innings with six strikeouts.

Sam Luchansky tossed the next four innings with five strikeouts followed by Nolan Wilson's 1.1 innings.

Sam High came in and pitched the final two innings.
