Title: Assistant Coach

Former Belmont Abbey College third baseman Nick Popp joined the Belmont Abbey coaching staff in 2014.  Popp assists in all aspects of the program while focusing on the Crusaders' offense and corner infielders. He is also heavily involved in recruiting.

After transferring in from a junior college, Popp became a two-year starter for the Crusaders at third base. In 2006, Popp was selected for the Cal Ripken Collegiate Summer League All-Star game as a member of the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts. Leading his team in multiple offensive categories, he helped them to the Cal Ripken League Championship, earning all-tournament honors after back-to-back home runs in the championship game. Popp played one year of professional baseball with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League before returning to Belmont Abbey to finish his degree in Sport Management.

Popp received his undergrad degree from The Abbey in 2008 and his Masters Degree in Business Leadership from Liberty University in 2017. In September of 2014, Popp married the former Kristyn Kinsey, a Belmont Abbey 2011 graduate and former lacrosse player. They currently reside in Fort Mill, S.C.
