Ensley Scores Second Straight Game-Winner in 2-1 Decision

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Freshman Madison Ensley scored her second game-winning goal in as many contests, leading Belmont Abbey to a 2-1 victory over Converse Monday night. With the victory, the Crusaders improved to 2-0 on the young season.

Ensley found the net with 3:31 remaining to break a 1-1 tie. It was her third tally of the year after scoring both goals in a 2-1 victory on Friday. Her game winner then came with 3:19 to play.

Mia Maminski scored 46 seconds into the contest to give Belmont Abbey a lead it would hold until early in the second half. Converse, in its first season, evened the game at 1 at the 43:13 mark.

Paige Hinds made a pair of saves in goal to pick up the victory. The Crusaders held a 7-6 advantage in shots and a 7-4 lead in penalty corners.

Belmont Abbey looks to match its inaugural season win total on Wednesday when it hosts Newberry.
