LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Paige Hinds made five saves, but Belmont Abbey dropped a non-conference field hockey match 2-0 at Bellarmine on Thursday. The Crusaders drop to 6-6 overall, while the Knights improve to 8-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a scoreless first quarter, Bellarmine got on the board 1:02 into the second.
  • An early goal after halftime -- 2:49 in -- doubled the lead to the final score.
  • Bellarmine held a 10-2 advantage in shots. Sandra Gannon and Lauren Delisi took the attempts for The Abbey.
  • The hosts also led in penalty corners, 9-2.
