BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Junior Jacob Wilson scored 14 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists, but King posted a 91-59 vctory over the Crusaders in men's basketball action Friday night. Deion Lane chipped in 12 points and four rebounds, while Gunnar Hardarson added 11 points.
The Crusaders (5-8, 1-4) shot just 32.0 percent in the opening period, falling behind 11-0 in the first two minutes and 44-24 at the break.
In the second half, The Abbey improved to 40.6 percent, improving its conversion rate to 36.8 percent, but could never cut into the lead. Meanwhile, King finished the contest with 14 three-pointers and a 42.1 percent shooting effort. The Tornado also held a 56-32 rebounding advantage.
Belmont Abbey continues its road swing tomorrow when it faces Lees-McRae. The contest has been moved to a 4 p.m. start due to local weather conditions.
