Kennon Mcfalls came in first place out of 98 men's bowlers in the Green River Classic this afternoon in Campbellsville, KY. It was the first intercollegiate bowling tournament Belmont Abbey has ever competed in. Mcfalls' finished with a score of 1101.
The Crusaders were in fourth place out of 11 teams after Day 1, with a score of 4547. The team finished the tournament in seventh place with a 6606 score.
When asked about his team's performance, Head Coach Clyde Ferguson offered some positive insights, stating "matches were close, which was not reflected in position rankings. I saw a lot of growth as a team, which is very promising for future competitions. We went from high standings early on to low and then back up to a respectable ending."
The Crusaders will back in action on Saturday, November 5 when it heads to Marietta, GA to bowl in the Brunswick Southern Classic.
