Competing as an individual, Belmont Abbey sophomore James Jaworski recorded his first career top-ten finish as he tied for seventh while the Crusaders team finished seventh at the Rock Barn Intercollegiate, hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University at the Rock Barn Golf and Spa in Conover, North Carolina. The Rock Barn Invitational was the final fall tournament of the year for the Crusaders, who will begin again in February for the championship portion of the schedule.
Jaworski, whose score did not impact the Abbey's team score, posted his first top ten finish in four starts as he opened with a two over 74 and closed with a 75. He finished just three shots back of the winner, Sam Goodnight of North Greenville.
Tyler Satorious, who also competed as an individual, carded rounds of 78 and 77 to finish in a tie for 27th.
As for the team score, Belmont Abbey opened with a 318 and was 18 strokes better today as the Crusaders were led by Cameron Buist. The Scotland native opened with a 79 and rallied with a two over 74 today to finish in a tie for 24th.
Cameron Mitro finished one stroke behind Buist, as his rounds of 82 and 72 allowed him to finish in a tie for 24th.
Matthew Reid bested his first round 78 by one shot, as his 77 gained him a tie for 27th. Robin Salmi closed with a 77 after opening with a 79 to finish in a tie for 30th and Knox Gibson opened with an 86 but rallied with a 79 to end up in a tie for 53rd.
