#13 Men's Lacrosse Moves To 3-0 With 11-7 Road Victory At Brevard

The 13th-ranked Belmont Abbey men's lacrosse team moved to 3-0 for the first time since the 2013 season as the Crusaders posted an 11-7 win at Brevard this evening. The Tornado fall to 3-3.

Belmont Abbey led 3-1 after one, tacked on another in the second to lead 4-1 at the half then outscored the Tornado 7-6 in the second half to earn the win.

Senior co-captain Joey McGinley led the Crusaders with three goals, while Brendan McGovern, Connor Sellars and Callum Tanner added two each.

The Crusaders converted four of their six man up opportunities as both of McGovern's goals came in the extra man opportunity.

The offense came alive in the fourth quarter as each team scored four times on 17 shots. 

Belmont Abbey outshot Brevard 35-28 and the defense caused 16 turnovers, led by Devin Cruz's five. Harley Whitham made 11 saves in the cage.

The Crusaders are back in action Saturday at noon when it welcomes Rollins to Alumni Field.
