Booth Tallies Six Points in 15-10 Win Over Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. - James Booth handed out five assists as the Belmont Abbey Men's Lacrosse team earned a 15-10 victory at Lynn University this evening.  The victory puts the Crusaders at 8-1 on the year.  The Fighting Knights move to 3-3.

How it Happened

  • Lynn scored two goals early, but the Crusaders responded, as Jack Pigott and Sean Hanrahan scored just 22 seconds apart to put The Abbey 3-2.  The game was tied at four when the quarter ended
  • The second was all Abbey.  Booth handed out assists to Pigott, Collin Grippo, and Liam Osborne.  The defense limited the Fighting Knights to six shots in the quarter, and the Crusaders held a 7-4 lead at halftime
  • Grippo was the first to score in the third.  He found the back of the net again at the 1:54 mark.  By the end of the quarter, BAC had a 9-8 advantage
  • The Crusader offense exploded in the fourth, scoring six goals on just six shots.  Noah Haas and Ben Utrosa scored just 1:07 apart for a 13-9 lead with 7:47 to play.  Hanrahan capped off the scoring at the 4:12 mark, and Belmont Abbey completed the 15-10 win
  • On the night, Booth was the Crusader leader offensively, with a goal and five assists.  Osborne scored four times
  • On the defensive side, Brody Munro and Brad Mackie each caused three Lynn turnovers
  • Bryce Gifford made 11 saves in goal and picked up a team-high nine ground balls
  • Lynn only made one save on The Abbey
