BELMONT, N.C. - The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team hosted Division 1 opponent USC Upstate today and faced The Citadel and Newberry College in Sumter, South Carolina. The Abbey lost to all three opponents, and is now 2-6 on the season.
How it Happened
- Jacob Andress had the most competitive match against USC Upstate, which ended in a 6-2, 6-2 win for the Spartans
- Andress also paired up with Tomas Pardo to produce the most competitive doubles battle, which Upstate took 6-2
- Against The Citadel, Kent Shiell earned his second win of the Spring, with a 3-set victory at #1 singles
- Bailey Horne also got a victory, at #2 singles
- Carlos Nolasco, against Newberry, earned a quick 6-2, 6-1 victory at #5 singles
- Holden Ballard closed out the day, winning his #6 singles match by scores of 2-6, 6-4, 10-6
