Men's Volleyball Swept By Visiting Mount Olive, 3-0

The Belmont Abbey men's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to the visiting Mount Olive College Trojans this evening inside the Wheeler Center. Set scores were 22-25, 20-25 and 23-25. Mount Olive improves to 7-7 overall and 6-3 in Conference Carolinas, while the Abbey slips to 2-10 overall and 1-7 in league play.

The Crusaders hit .130 as Jon Lowenhagen and Spencer Fournell both led the Abbey with seven kills apiece. Lowenhagen added ten digs to record his first career double double. He also had a service ace. Derek Sullivan handed out 23 assists.

Defensively, Johnny Gomez led all players with 13 digs as the Crusaders totaled 34 on the evening.

At the net Sullivan posted three block solos, with Fournell, Dustin Buell, Justin Snyder and Evan Young all recording one.

The Crusaders are back in action Thursday night when they host Lindenwood.
