Men's Volleyball Defeats Mount Olive in Straight Sets

BELMONT, NC - The Belmont Abbey men's volleyball improved to 13-8 and 8-5 in Conference Carolinas play with a straight set victory over Mount Olive. The Crusaders bested the Trojans 25-19, 25-20, 25-16. The win tonight is the first in school history over Conference opponent Mount Olive.

Senior outside hitter Nolan Albrecht set a milestone in Belmont Abbey men's volleyball history by notching his 1,000th kill. Albrecht led all players with 21 kills on 42 swings for a .429 clip.

On the night, the Abbey outpaced the Spartans with four blocks to their one, nine blocks to their one and hitting .379 on the contest.

Senior setter Derek Sullivan dished out 32 assists, leading all players.

Seniors Justin Snyder and Jon Lowenhagen added to the offense with five and six kills respectively. Lowenhagen helped the Crusader offense with a .444 attack percentage.

With the win, the Crusaders move up to fourth in the Conference Carolinas standings.

Belmont Abbey is back in action next Tuesday as they travel to North Greenville. First serve is slated for 7:00 PM.
