Freshmen Running First Collegiate Races Lead Men's Cross Country To Fifth Place Finish At Season Opening Queens Twilight

Belmont Abbey freshmen Jonah Wilamowski and Patrick Lester were the top two Crusader finishers in their first collegiate race to lead the men's cross country team to a fifth place finish out of eight teams at the Queens Twilight. Queens hosted the event at Freedom Park in Charlotte.

Wilamowski raced a personal best time of 16:33 in the 5000 meter race to finish 19th, while Lester finished 33rd as his time of 17:12 was also a personal best.

Ryan Caulley finished 40th as he clocked a time of 17:32, three spots ahead of teammate David Iverson, who completed the distance in 18:18.

Joe Thierfelder (18:39-47th), Eduardo Cerdeiras (20:16-54th) and Steph-Yves Louis (20:20-55th) rounded out the field.
