Belmont Abbey freshman Connor Buhrmeister led the Abbey to a sixth place finish with a time of 16:02 in the Queens Twilight 5K run at Freedom Park in Charlotte. This earned Buhrmeister a 31st-place finish out of 65 runners. The Crusaders finished sixth out of six teams.

Sophomore Patrick Lester also had a strong performance, maintaining a 13th-place lead throughout most of the first mile, and finishing with a time of 16:16, which was the second-best Crusader time, 35th overall, and only four spots behind Burhmeister.

Freshman Nicholas Snell (16:51-46th) finished one spot in front of teammate David Iverson, who clocked a time of 16:53 and finished 47th.  Mackenzie Makela (18:11-57th), Eduardo Cerdeiras (18:32-59th), and Ryan Caulley (18:45-61st) rounded out the field.
