In game two, Williams would help her cause in the first inning with a two RBI single, scoring Sloane McPeak and Mackenzie Dziendziel.
Williams would take care of things, scattering nine hits in the seven innings, walking no one. Her single in the first was one of seven hits in game two for the Crusaders.
McPeak would slug a homer in the fifth to pad the Abbey lead to 3-1. McPeak had the lone multi hit game of the day for the Crusaders, who now go to Barton and Mount Olive this weekend with a 7-17 record.
The next six games leading to the Easter break are all road games within Conference Carolinas. Following the weekend down East, the Crusaders will travel to North Greenville next weekend for a twinbill.
