HIGH POINT, N.C.-- Belmont Abbey has placed three players on the Conference Carolinas Softball Academic All-Conference Team, the league office announced today. Claire Doyle, Melissa Neyhouse and Alexis Rogers were honored for their successes in the classroom while competing in the sport.
A total of 56 players were named to the team, which is comprised of junior and senior student-athletes who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution. The GPA is calculated based on the student-athlete's cumulative average through the previous semester and each student-athlete must have attended their member institution for at least one academic year.
The announcement comes in preparation of the Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament, which starts Friday at the Burlington Springwood Softball Complex in Burlington, N.C.
