Felsoci Scores Four Goals Against #8-ranked Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. - Marin Felsoci scored four goals against Limestone, though the Crusaders dropped the 23-10 decision.  The Abbey now stands at 11-5 on the season and 7-2 against Conference Carolinas opponents.  The Saints are now 13-2 overall and 9-0 in conference play.

Limestone scored first, but Felsoci tallied her first goal five and a half minutes into the game to tie the game at one.  After three Saints goals, Felsoci scored again at the 17:43 mark off a pass from Rebecca Luca.  Felsoci found the back of the net twice in the final 30 seconds, one off a pass from Luca and one from Kylie Eastman.  Limestone held a 13-5 advantage at halftime.  The tough Abbey defense forced nine Limestone turnovers in the half.

It only took Luca 45 seconds into the second half to make it a 13-6 game.  Less than two minutes later, Luca again found the back of the net for her 65th goal of the season.  Eastman did the rest of the goal scoring for the Crusaders.  She scored once at the 21:13 mark on a pass from Sarah Schaefer.  Then with 14:21 to play, she tallied a score off a pass from Caitlin Cook, which was Eastman's 25th goal of the year.  She then capped off the game's scoring with a shot with less than a minute to go.  The Saints, however, finished the game with the 23-10 victory.

On the day, Felsoci's four goals led the Crusaders.  Eastman contributed with three goals and an assist.  Luca scored twice and dished out two assists.  Rebecca Stromberg came up with eight draw controls, while Felsoci won seven.  Annie Brannon made 11 saves in goal.

Belmont Abbey will visit Lees-McRae College on Friday, April 20 for its final game of the regular season.  That contest will begin at 7 p.m.
