Wrestling Honors Seniors As Home Schedule Comes To A Close With 28-12 Loss To King

Belmont Abbey and King both claimed five wins, but the Tornado posted three pins and a major decision to claim a 28-12 victory over the Cruaders this evening inside the Wheeler Center on Senior Night. Seniors Kwame Seymour, Chris Sloat and Glenn Cothren were all honored prior to the match.

The Crusaders are in action one last time before the NCAA Regionals, as they compete Saturday at the Newberry Open.

Patrick Mestrez gave the Abbey a 3-0 lead with an 11-5 win at 125, but the Tornado pulled away by winning the next four bouts, two by pinfall and another by a injury forfeit.

Daniel Callahan stemmed the tide with an 8-4 victory at 165, followed by Sloat's 5-3 victory at 174 in his final match at the Wheeler Center.

King claimed two of the final three matches, with only Kelly Baker's 5-3 win at 197 halting the string.
