TIGERVILLE, N.C. -- Freshman Tatiana Daugherty scored twice and Kathryn Laughlin tallied her first goal of the season, lifting Belmont Abbey to a 3-0 road win at North Greenville Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, The Abbey clinches a berth in the upcoming Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Tournament next month.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Laughlin opened the scoring midway through the first half after taking a pass from Alyssa Puckett and Goose Andrews.
- Just 45 second into the second period, Daugherty doubled the lead on a pass from Morgan Patton
- The duo connected again at the 70:38 mark to make the final score 3-0.
- BAC held a 15-13 advantage in shots, but put the pressure on with 11 corner kicks compared to the home team's two. Daugherty tallied six shots, five on goal.
- Lauren Harding made eight saves in recording her league-leading fifth shutout of the year.
