Miller & Schellenberg Win Singles Matches In 7-2 Loss To Catawba

The Belmont Abbey women's tennis teams received wins at number one and two singles but the Catawba Indians won the other seven matches to earn a 7-2 victory this afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.

Crusaders senior Lydia Schellenberg, who is playing tennis in her final collegiate semester after spending four years starring for the women's volleyball team, earned her first career win with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Liz Renteria at number one singles.

Junior Katharine Miller gave the Abbey its other victory, as she posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Sloan Kessler at number two singles.

Belmont Abbey is back in action Thursday when it goes on the road to face UNC Charlotte.
