Outdoor Track Competes at Gamecock Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Belmont Abbey women's Track & Field team competed today in the Gamecock Invitational, hosted by the University of South Carolina.

The distance running was the strongest area for the Crusaders, with four runners finishing in the top 25 in their respective events.

Freshman Anna Hetzel finished in the top 20 in the 1500M Run, with a 5:18.74 run.  In the 800M run, freshman Hannah Zenker placed 19th with a 2:31 race.  Julia Otranto, with a 2:33.8 run, came in 24th place.  Maya McQune competed in the 200M, and earned a 20th-place finish with a 26.33 race.

The Crusaders will compete at the Conference Carolinas Championships next weekend, hosted by Southern Wesleyan University in Central, SC.
