Crusaders Wrap Up Regular Season at Gamecock Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Belmont Abbey wrapped up its 2019 Outdoor Track and Field regular season Saturday, competing at the 2019 Gamecock Invitational, hosted by the University of South Carolina.

Julia Otranto, Theresa Wilson and Jillian Culbertson each posted Top 20 finishes in their respective events.


  • Otranto placed 18th in the 800m, turning in a time of 2:21.78, while Wilson was sixth in the 3000 Steeplechase (14:15.92). Culbertson placed 20th in the javelin, throwing a season-best 21.98m (72'-1") on her first attempt.
  • Keely Weber earned a top 40 finish in the 800m, placing 38th in a time of 2:32.64.
  • Annie Hetzel was 35th in the 1500 (5:08.85), while Taylor Rusnak placed 43rd (5:27.47).
  • Savannah Lamb finished 39th in the 100 Hurdles. Her time was 16.48. 
  • Culbertson also shined in the 400 Hurdles, running 1:21.36 to finish 28th.
  • The 4 x 100 squad of Maryn Vickers, Cameron Davis, Maya McQune and Lamb was 20th (51.44).
  • Lamb, Otranto, Weber and McQune combined to place 15th in the 4 x 400 (4:25.89).


  • The Crusaders have a week off before competing at the 2019 Conference Carolinas Championship in Central, S.C. on April 26-27.
